KEITH LADZINSKI
Keith resides in Colorado Springs, USA when he’s not traveling. Growing up in Colorado meant easy access to the mountains and a myriad of outdoor entertainment. Upon picking up his first camera Keith gravitated to scenic photography and skateboard photography to document the two subjects he was most familiar with in his life. Countless rolls of film later he realized that these completely different mediums of photography shared one common theme, quality of light meant everything. These days you are more likely to find Keith dangling from a rope shooting rock climbing or lighting up an area on a backcountry photo shoot then shooting skateboarding in the city. Published internationally Keith’s work has frequently appeared in the New York Times, ESPN, American Photo, National Geographic Adventure, Men’s Journal, Rock and Ice, and Outside. SUSANICA TAM
There’s nothing like getting ready to leave a place that inspires images to be captured and moments to be frozen in memory. I’ve been leaving places all my life, but the good thing is that I’ve been continually introduced to new ones. What I like about photojournalism is its ability to capture. Photos speak effortlessly through barriers erected by language, culture, and background differences. Images are like music: you don’t have to speak a common tongue to communicate with them. Many photos featured on this site were shot in Peru. They were shot during a post-graduation eight-week solo backpacking trip. Possibly because it was the first trip of this magnitude that I had taken alone, the country made a deep and lasting impression on me. The trip helped to inspire the confidence in me to pursue photojournalism as a career. My name is Susánica. I’m 26 and I’ve had five addresses in the last year, and many nights spent roadside in my car. It’s hard to believe, but I am joining the ranks of the working world. I graduated from the University of Southern California with a journalism degree the summer before last, and spent my time between working as a photojournalist in Mobile, Alabama (The Mobile Press-Register), and Santa Fe, New Mexico (The Santa New Mexican). I have recent travel experience all over North America, Peru, and the Indian subcontinent. I speak three languages fluently, two proficiently, and two conversationally. It’s been a wild ride and I’ve met some amazing people, and if you ask me, I wouldn’t have done anything differently. The majority of my work here features my passion for the outdoors, on rock and ice. I also shoot news and other projects. These photos are currently not being displayed on the site but that may change in the future. For more info, check out www.susanica.com
ANDREW BURR
Andrew Burr's passion is his photography. His goal is to capture rare moments of intimate human emotion set on the amazing background that is our natural environment. His photographic exploits have taken him from Baja to the Brooks Range, and most places in between. His favorite backdrop, however, is the American Southwest, where he has climbed dozens of desert towers, explored numerous slot canyons, and floated many of the major rivers, all with camera gear in tow. He used to make weekly pilgrimages to southern Utah nearly year- round until he rediscovered the world of backcountry touring in the Wasatch Mountains. (Why spend half an hour in the cold trying to stick an A3 hook move when you can skin up and cruise down a thousand feet of fresh powder in the same amount of time?) Now, his travels are more seasonal: desert adventures in the spring and fall, ski/snowboard touring and ice climbing in the winter, and traveling the high country in the summer. With additional exploits as a surfer, kayaker, and backpacker, Andy has become an all-around outdoor adventure photographer. Andrew has worked with Patagonia and Black Diamond, and has had several photographs published by Climbing Magazine. His frequent slide shows are advertised by word-of-mouth only, and regularly pack the venue. www.andrewburr.com

SONNIE TROTTER
The first time I ever tied into a rope was at an outdoor festival in Toronto called the CNE. I was almost 16 years old. Joe Rockhead’s Climbing Gym set up an artificial wall for spectators, tourists and little punks like myself trying to blow off some steam. Since my sisters had gone on all the rides and I wasn’t in the mood for roller coasting - I decided to try a stout overhanging wall dubbed, ‘K2′. With each grip I felt more and more alone and only when I reached the top did I realize how high I was. I’ve been chasing that high ever since. Upon graduation, I hit the open road for the rocky mountains of Colorado. I don’t think I’ve been home for more than three or four months ever since. Although I love and miss my family greatly, I will never regret leaving behind the urban sprawl to explore a world of uncertainty, a world of great character, raw beauty and individual expression. During the long winter months I have a habit of gravitating towards warmer climates so I can climb, camp and chase the endless summer. I’ve explored Mexico, France, Spain, Malta, Australia and this past winter I went to India with my girlfriend Lydia. In addition to this, I’ve spent countless months traversing the lower 48 from Texas to California, from New York to Alaska. In 2002 I made a successful five-month (coast to coast) trip across Canada. My goal was to spend as little money as possible while visiting each and every significant climbing area and small town along the way, from Halifax to Victoria - oh and climb as hard as possible. I read somewhere that life is a great book, and for those who don’t travel only read one page. One thing I have come to realize through climbing and exploring is that fear is an illusion. No matter where we go, there will always be good people around a warm fire, there will always be a friend to share with a cold beer and there will always be a new adventure lurking somewhere over them there hills. So enjoy! For more info, check out sonnietrotter.com
