Saturday delivered a full day of climbing-related events and entertainment that took place all over Squamish and participants were treated to an array of activities ranging from rock climbing clinics, yoga camps, team tug-of-war, photography workshops and everything in between.
Following a rather full roster of activities during the day, Saturday night brought with it a whole fresh schedule of entertainment.
First up was the Big Wall Night at the Eagle Eye Theatre, presented by Ed Cooper and Tim Emmett and featured a series of short videos and presentations highlighting the history of Squamish as an international climbing destination, as well as the evolution of Free Base climbing/jumping developed by pioneer climber Dean Potter.
Rounding out the week was the infamous SQUMF week-ender bender, this year called the Robot Disco Party. Party robots descended on the Howe Sound Brew Pub dressed in their spacey duds to party on down to music by DJs Riddim Fernandez, Timothy Wisdom and J Smith. Photographic evidence of robots having a good-time will be available on a social media site near you soon.

Starting the day bright and early and armed with tools and refreshments, volunteers descended on the trails to spend the morning repairing and improving various approaches to climbing routes and bouldering areas. Thanks to the Climbing Access Society of British Columbia and Squamish Access Society for organizing this event.
Visiting us all the way from Switzerland, Nina Caprez, Arc'teryx sponsored athlete joined us for the night to present highlights of her epic visit to Argentina. Caprez and a team of climbers traveled to South America on a journey that would soon reveal the true value of their discoveries as one of the best bouldering destinations in South America.
Also showing on Friday night was a short movie by hiker Christoph Rehage whose one-year walk from Beijing to Ürümqi was captured in a remarkable time-lapse video of roughly 1400 photographs highlighting his adventure.
And last but definitely not least, a captive audience was introduced to climbing athlete Cory Richards as he presented his remarkable mountaineering film about becoming the first American to summit an 8,000 metre peak in Winter. The footage highlighted the raw, unflinching view of humanity at its very limits as Richards and his team overcame near-death circumstances to reach the summit.
